How to Cook Perfect Fish Steaks Every Time

This guide is all about cooking perfect fish steaks every time. There is a lot of steps to take, but it will be worth it in the end when you have amazing fish steaks that are cooked to perfection!

  1. Start by choosing the right type of fish: Not all types of fish are suited for steak form, so you need to make sure you choose the right one. The best types of fish for steak form are thicker ones, like tuna, swordfish, salmon, or halibut.

  2. Cut your fish into steaks: Once you've chosen your fish, it's time to cut it into steaks. Cut across the width of the fish, making sure each steak is about 1-inch thick. If your fish is on the thinner side, you can cut it into smaller pieces.

  3. Marinade your fish: This is an optional step, but marinating your fish will add flavor and help keep it moist. You can use any marinade you like, or just some salt and pepper will work fine too. Let the fish sit in the marinade for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 2 hours.

  4. Preheat your grill: Before cooking your fish, preheat your grill on medium-high heat. You want the grill to be hot before adding the fish so that it cooks evenly.

  5. Grill your fish: Place the fish steaks on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through (you can test this by using a fork to check for doneness). Serve immediately with a squeeze of lemon juice or some melted butter if desired. Enjoy!
